The delegation consisting of South African Ministry of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment, Acting Director of Hazardous Chemicals Management, Head of the National Ozone Unit Margeret Molefe, South African National Ozone Unit Environment Officer Gift Molokwane and UNIDO Environment Department Project Coordinator Natasha KOCHOVA visited the Turkiye National Ozone Unit on October 17, 2022 to get information about the studies carried on fluorinated greenhouse gases in Türkiye.
Consultations were held with the delegation, which was accepted by the Climate Change Office President, Mr. Orhan SOLAK.
Following the opening speech delivered by Volkan POLAT, Head of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Monitoring Department, information was exchanged on the works/studies carried out by our Country's National Ozone Unit within the scope of the Montorel Protocol. South Africa Acting Director of Hazardous Chemicals Management and Head of the National Ozone Unit, Margaret Molefe, also gave information about the Montroel Protocol studies they carried out in their country. Then, presentations were made by the experts of the Department of Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (National Ozone Unit) to the South African delegation about the studies carried out so far and planned to be carried out in the future within the scope of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment, as well as the legislative studies and the online tracking system created for the tracking of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
After the meeting held in our Presidency, technical site visit was organized to Anoxia A.Ş. Waste Gas Recovery and Disposal facility on the recycle/reclaim of SF6 and refrigerants.
